We spend thousands of dollars in flowers
and dresses and champagne
and we rent a beautiful place
and hire waiters and fancy food
and invite people we don't even like that much
and we work so hard for these couple of hours
to be perfect!
perfect!
perfect!
Please be perfect!
As if a perfect wedding could change our lives
and make our doubts go away
and make our fights go away
and make our insecurity go away.
We spend thousands of dollars in flowers
and smile and cry and hug as if there was no tomorrow.
And the sad truth: It's worth it!
Please be perfect.
I think the promise of perfection is the main thing about it, K. It may not deliver what is expected to, but a glimpse of heaven sometimes is all we need. =)
